Capture the Spirits
A Highfolk Community Event
Spirits of Highfolk

Highfolk is old. Within these primordial places linger spirits unknown in the younger lands of the Flanaess. Be wary as you enter the wilds of Highfolk: you know not what watches you.
But perhaps if you capture them, they might not capture you!
Do you have what it takes to capture the spirits?
This spring, join the “Capture the Spirits” event, share your interpretation of three wild spirits below, and see your art shared with the broader community! BMG may even spotlight some spirits in fun & unique ways.
The sky’s the limit for the media and methods you use to capture them. The only limit: no AI art.
Review the prompts below, and then click the button to submit your spirits and see the event rules and guidelines.

More on the Classification of Spirits
The multitudes of sprits in the wilds are varied in the extreme.
- LESSER SPIRITS are simple, even approachable, small and whimsical.
- Some INTERMEDIATE SPIRITS are far more odd and imposing.
- GREATER SPIRITS represent the awesome and sublime power of the natural world.
- (It is whispered there are even more transcendent spirits–things beyond the ken of mortals.)
Highfolk’s nature spirits are believed to belong to three houses:
- Spirits of the SKY and all things air,
- Spirits of STONE and the great earth and mountains; and
- Spirits of EMBER which represent not only fire but the spark of life.
Highfolk isn’t a big fan of rules, but the real world requires them. For more information about the “Capture the Spirits” Content Rules and Guidelines, and the BMG Content Policy for the event, you can read those on the rules and submissions page here:
