Legends of Greyhawk - Regions

Castle Greyhawk

North of the Free City of Greyhawk, several miles past the stone bridge over the Selintan River, lie the ruins of Castle Greyhawk. Three shattered towers loom above the largest dungeon on Oerth. Built by the archmage Zagig Yragerne and long abandoned since his demise, Castle Greyhawk promises wealth, glory, and adventure to those who dare venture within. Many secrets and mysteries await the keen adventurer eager to uncover all that the castle holds, but be wary, for dangers lurk on every level of this infamous dungeon.

The Domain of Greyhawk

The lands, towns, and villages under the Free City’s control form the Domain of Greyhawk. From the treacherous Mistmarsh and the rugged Cairn Hills to the rolling Plains of Greyhawk, danger and discovery lie in wait. At the heart of it all stands the Free City itself, a glittering jewel of wealth, power, and ambition. Merchants and mercenaries, scholars and schemers, nobles and knaves all vie for influence in its bustling streets and crowded markets. It is said that whether seeking fortune or fleeing fate, all find their way to the City of Greyhawk, which welcomes the bold and the broken alike. This is a land where fortunes can be won or lost in a single night, where forgotten tombs and hidden vaults whisper promises of glory, and where the brave are called to shape their destiny and carve their names into legend.

The Duchy of Urnst

A realm of noble traditions and ancient bloodlines, where courtly intrigue shapes the fate of nations.

The Free Lands of Highfolk

The region of Highfolk clings to the western edge of the Vesve Forest, bordered by the Yatil Mountains and the Kingdom of Furyondy, with the Velverdyva River flowing through its heart. It is a rugged land of free folk who savor prosperity and endure hardship together. Life on the frontier is forged through survival, so communities are often tightly knit. Magic is scarce, ancient, hidden, and often dangerous. The Vesve holds secrets even elves will not name. But there is incredible opportunity here as well for those who seize it. This is a land where heroic tales begin: where wilderness meets civilization, where unexpected heroes rise, and where the land itself may one day speak their name.

Lordship of the Isles

A maritime realm of scattered islands, where ancient secrets lie beneath storm-tossed waves and sea captains rule with iron fists.

The Realms of Ferrond

The fertile lands of the Central Flanaess, from the Lortmil Mountains to the Nyr Dyv, form the region which old timers sometimes refer to collectively as “Old Ferrond.” Since the fall of the Great Kingdom, these realms have reorganized into an allied collection of smaller, independent states comprised of the Kingdom of Furyondy, the Archclericy of Veluna, and the Viscounty of Verbobonc. Together they stand as a bastion of hope against the darkness for all those who hold fast to the ideals of the common good. Knightly orders defend the realms against incursions from the Land of Iuz and the Horned Society. They call upon the strong of heart to brandish the bright blade for honor and glory any time evil dares to threaten their peace!

The Wild Coast

The Wild Coast is a lawless region between the Jewel River, Gnarley Forest, Suss Forest, and Woolly Bay. Bandits, pirates, and unknown dangers plague the land near the evil Pomarj. Six settlements—Narwell, Safeton, Cantona, Fax, Badwall, and Elredd—provide pockets of civilization, but their rulers lack military power beyond their walls. Mercenaries are in high demand to guard trade caravans and travelers on the dangerous roads connecting these towns.

Specials

Specials, a.k.a. Multi-Table Events can happen in any region, but they are different enough that we gave them their own region as well. Specials have multiple tables working together towards a shared goal. Chaotic, confusing, and a great time.

Challenge

A Challenge adventure is a special adventure, written to be significantly tougher than normal. These are not for the faint of heart.
