“Capture the Spirits” Community Project

Thanks for being part of the Capture the Spirits community project! By submitting your work, you agree to the terms below. In short: you keep ownership of your work, and Baldman Games (BMG) gets permission to use it for the project and promotion.

1. How to Submit

To be considered, all entries must be submitted through the official submission form and follow these guidelines.

2. What You Can Submit

You can submit your work in any format that can be uploaded through the form.

3. Content Guidelines

Please make sure your submission is:

  • Safe for work and suitable for a general audience
  • Not offensive, hateful, discriminatory, obscene, or illegal
  • Free from harassment, racism, sexism, or harmful material
  • Compliant with all applicable laws

BMG will decide, using reasonable judgment, whether a submission meets these standards.

4. Using Others’ Work & IP

Your submission must be your own original work, or based on material you have the legal right to use.

Please don’t include:

  • Official logos, trademarks, or copyrighted material from Wizards of the Coast, Dungeons & Dragons, Legends of Greyhawk, or any other third party—unless you have written permission to use them.

5. AI Use

Submissions may not be created using generative AI tools that produce original images, audio, or text.
Basic tools like spellcheck, color correction, or file compression are totally fine.

6. Who Owns Your Work?

You do.
You keep full ownership of everything you submit. Nothing here transfers ownership of your copyright or other rights to BMG.

7. Permission You Give BMG

By submitting your work, you give BMG permission (a non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free license) to:

  • Use, share, post, display, edit, adapt, and remix your submission
  • Feature it as part of the community project
  • Use it for marketing, promotion, social media, events, or other related purposes

This permission applies forever and across all media platforms, current and future.

In all cases, BMG will credit you as the creator.

8. How You Can Use Your Own Work

You’re still free to:

  • Share or display your work for non‑commercial purposes
  • Post it publicly for free

Please don’t sell or commercially use the submission in a way that suggests BMG sponsors or endorses you, unless you get written permission first.

9. Removal of Submissions

BMG can stop using or remove a submission at any time, for any reason, including if it believes the submission breaks these rules or the law.

This doesn’t affect your ownership or your ability to use your work outside the project.

10. Your Promises to Us

By submitting, you promise that:

  • You created the work yourself or have all necessary rights to submit it
  • Your submission doesn’t infringe on anyone else’s rights
  • Your submission follows all applicable laws

11. Responsibility for Legal Issues

If someone makes a legal claim against BMG because of your submission (for example, copyright infringement), you agree to cover any resulting costs, damages, or reasonable legal fees—if the issue is caused by a violation of these terms or the law.

12. Limits on Claims

As allowed by law, you agree not to sue BMG for how it uses your submission under these terms.
This doesn’t apply if there’s fraud or intentional wrongdoing.

13. Policy Changes

BMG may update this policy from time to time.

  • Submissions made before a change will follow the version in effect when they were submitted.
  • New submissions or changes made after an update will follow the new version.

14. Ending Participation

If you seriously break these rules, BMG may remove you from the community project.
Any rights you already granted to BMG will continue.

15. Legal Stuff

This agreement is governed by U.S. law and the laws of the State of Ohio. Any legal disputes must be handled in Ohio courts.

16. Final Word

By submitting your work through the form, you confirm that you’ve read this policy and agree to it.

Challenge

A Challenge adventure is a special adventure, written to be significantly tougher than normal. These are not for the faint of heart.
Challenge adventures are intended to be limited in their availability and will only show up at few and specific events.

Author Only

An Author Only adventure is a special adventure, written by an Admin, Story Lead, Premier Organizer, or WOTC employee. They often deal with unique or special events, can only be run by the author, and are not otherwise released. These adventures are available in person and at online events

Special

Special  is an adventure that does not follow the normal adventure template. Usually they are adventures that are played with multiple tables where all the tables are working towards a shared goal, and success or failure at one table can and will influence things for the other tables…
